Yesterday evening the Bushey St James Trust held its Annual General Meeting and termly Trust Board Meeting. One of the key considerations was related to the recent application from Hartsbourne Primary School to join the Bushey St James Trust which was made in January of this year.
Since that time a lengthy and robust due diligence process has taken place. This has looked at all aspects of Hartsbourne Primary School in respect of pupil outcomes, teaching and learning, leadership and management, behaviour and safety, human resources, finances, site and facilities and capacity to improve. These were fully reported to the Trust Board.
I am delighted to report that the BSJT Trust Board unanimously voted to support the application for Hartsbourne Primary School to join the Bushey St James Trust; the Trust Board were delighted with the emerging collaborations, the exciting future ahead and what Hartsbourne Primary School will bring to the Trust moving forward.
They were also very impressed with the quality and robustness of the due diligence and wanted to thank all the key players at Bushey Meads and Hartsbourne for their hard work in this process – in particular Rachael Coombs, our dedicated Business Manager/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Richard Chambers, our hard working Facilities Manager.
There is still a bit more work to do in terms of further legal and financial matters and additional paperwork requested by the Department for Education (DfE) for submission to the Regional Schools Commissioner, Martin Post.
I would like to also thank all the staff and governors across both schools for their work to get us to this exciting place, which I know will support further developments and improvements for the children and students in all three schools in this area of Bushey and South West Hertfordshire. Exciting times indeed!
