Executive Principal’s Blog – 10.12.21 – ‘Shining Those Rays of Happiness’
Despite the ongoing challenges of the Coronavirus Omicron variant that we are all so conscious of at this current time, taking the appropriate precautions of encouraging mask wearing in communal areas, ensuring our enhanced cleanliness routines continue and making sure that we are keeping an appropriate distance from one another, we have been able to provide some sort of normality in our school community. As always I would like to thank all staff and parents and carers for their support.
Lessons have continued as usual and learning is taking place each and every day. In addition, with some sensible additional adaptations in place, we have been able to reintroduce some Christmas traditions for the benefit of our students.
On Tuesday of this week the Christmas Soiree provided a superb evening of festive entertainment which was warmly appreciated by many students, staff and parents and carers. Congratulations go to our Head of Music and Advanced Lead Teacher Mr Gray who rehearsed and coordinated the excellent performances, involving so many of our talented singers and instrumentalists.
On Wednesday it was also brilliant to see so many students wearing their Christmas jumpers in school and as a school community together raising a significant sum of money for charity, then later in the day enjoying one of best Christmas dinners ever prepared by Ally and the Caterlink team.
On Thursday after school the Year 7 Christmas Party was the best ever and more students than ever attended and had so much fun in a very safe environment – a huge thank you to our amazing Heads of House who contribute to making our school such a happy and fun place to be.
As we look forward to a positive final week in school, do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place.
With best wishes for a good weekend.
