Executive Principal’s Blog – 15.9.17: Our Super School – recognised at the highest level!
This week has been another busy but very fulfilling week at Bushey Meads; a week when we enjoyed receiving, not just one, but two prestigious regional and national awards, recognising our ongoing success in two key areas of school life.
Our core business remains teaching and learning and all staff in the classroom strive to showcase and share as much best practice for the benefit of all our learners. Over the past two years we have been a leading school in a national project, ‘Embedding Formative Assessment’ across all curriculum areas. We received an award from the SSAT for our work and were one of only three schools to showcase this best practice at a high profile conference in London last Friday.
It was no surprise to then hear the praise of County Councillor Mark Watkin, who visited BMS on Tuesday and wrote in our visitors’ book….
“I came as a politician with an interest in this school. I leave absolutely blown away by the quality of all I saw.”
We have a great school, made up of great staff and super students – all credit to their hugely supportive and dedicated parents and carers. I look forward to us all continuing to work together to achieve even more success for all the students in our care.
