EPB 151127 1

It was a real pleasure to meet so many wonderful parents and carers at last night’s Year 7 Parents’ Evening and see just how many students were achieving those top ‘Attitude to Learning’ numbers of 6 and 7 in so many subjects across the curriculum. Many parents commented so positively about how well their children had settled into the school and had made such a great start to their learning journey at Bushey Meads.

EPB 151127 2A number of parents who are currently teachers in some prestigious schools in the local area also spoke to me. They commented on how superb the welcoming, positive, inclusive, family atmosphere was at BMS and how all the enhanced transition activities have made for such a successful start to the school for their children. Just one of many other similar comments emailed in to the school this morning is highlighted below:

Dear Mr Turner

EPB 151127 3I wanted to share with the BMS staff what a positive experience the Year 7 Parents’ Evening was for us last night. We had such glowing comments from every member of staff which made us feel so proud. As primary teachers we were impressed with the easy to read format of the report too, with achievements and a clear target for each subject. The transition from primary school to BMS has been exceptional and, having attended several events already since our son’s move in September, it’s really dispelled any concerns that we had. Thank you to all the staff. Well done and keep up the outstanding work.

As I reminded you all last week, our next staff training day is this Monday 30th November. In addition we have a scheduled staff development afternoon on Tuesday 8th December and school will be finishing at 1.20 pm on this day; the bus service operated by Mullanys has been informed and, with no lunch being provided on that day, students will also be able to buy extra snacks at breaktime from the School Restaurant.

Our journey of improvement continues and I would like to thank you all for your positive support and encouragement for all the hardworking and dedicated staff at Bushey Meads School. With best wishes for a great weekend and don’t forget to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
