Executive Principal’s Blog – 8.7.22: Making Memories…..

It has been another busy but very special week in school this week and inspiring for me to stand on the front gates at the start of the day on Wednesday and see so many smiles on students’ faces and genuine excitement about the Making Memories Enrichment day ahead.

A massive thank you needs to go to all staff who definitely went the extra mile for the children in their care. Maths Busking, Food Tours of London, Go Karting, Cake Decorating, Sporting Activities, Board Gaming opportunities and even a Trip to the Seaside were amongst the wide range of activities on offer and made for one amazing day that students will remember for a long time to come. For me it was so lovely to see all the cross-age groups engaged in exciting opportunities that definitely appeared to light genuine fires and so nice to hear of all the many inspiring moments that have been shared by students, staff and parents about the day. Here is just one of the many parental comments:

Dear Mr O’Kelly,
I would just like to take a moment to thank you for putting on such a fab day for my daughter. She had an absolute blast at Go Ape, she faced her fears of heights and loved every minute. For me, that’s exactly what these enrichment days should be about. Thanks again, we really appreciate the time and energy it takes everyone to organise these types of events and look forward to next year’s even more now! Best wishes,
Mother of a Year 8 Student
The evening before our Making Memories Day we were delighted to be able to attend a really inspiring Evening of Dance and Music that showcased the exciting journey of outstanding provision in the arts at Bushey Meads and, in particular, the incredible journey of our dance department. All the performances were of real quality and it was so lovely to see our BSJT Dance Academy performing on the ‘big stage’. Again, a big thank you to all the staff and students involved. It was a great evening that made us so proud of our wonderful school community.
