Last weekend it was absolutely superb to hear about the great success of our talented and hardworking Year 10 food technology group taught by one of our top teachers Mrs Hanbury.
Entering the prestigious Watford Rotary Young Chef’s Competition, the students excelled themselves when they were selected to participate in the live regional heat. It was certainly a tough couple of hours for them all battling against very strong competition from other schools, but at the end of the competition we were delighted to hear that Olivia was the overall winner and that Christian came third.
Olivia has won a day in the kitchen with Russell Bateman (Head Chef at the prestigious 5* Grove Hotel and participant in the BBC’s Great British Chefs competition). As well as that she can enjoy a meal for 4 at Collette’s the Grove’s signature restaurant. She is now also being nominated to represent Hertfordshire in the finals!
