Overseen by Ms Silla Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is part of all Year 12 level 3 students’ study. The EPQ provides students with the opportunity to research and produce an essay based on a topic solely of their choice. With a weekly timetabled supervision session all students will be guided throughout their project by an EPQ supervisor. Our EPQ has proved to be popular with students and teachers alike. It provides an opportunity for students to extend their abilities beyond the A-level syllabus, stand out and prepare for university or their future career. It can also be used to earn extra UCAS points.
Some topics in recent years have included:
- Crossrail
- 3D animation
- Euthanasia
- Drug trials
- Business of the Premier League
- Impact of Social Media
- Historical comparisons
