Law

Students study the OCR law A Level course which culminates in sitting three exams.
The content comprises of detailed study of the English Legal System which looks at how laws are made, applied through the courts and by whom. So we study topics such as juries, judges, legislation, judges-made laws and, for the time being, the impact of European law. Alongside this is the study of three major law topics: criminal law, tort and contract. The criminal law focuses upon the fatal and non-fatal offences, defences and a range of property offences. The tort element focuses upon negligence, occupiers liability and how tort disputes are remedied. Finally, there is a detailed study of contract law.
